Nasser is a third year PhD student. He received his BA in Spanish Literature from the University of Damascus in 2011. He then moved to the US where he finished his MA in Hispanic Studies at Villanova University, PA in 2013. His main areas of interest are maqama art, exile and popular literature in Medieval and Early Modern Iberia. He is also curious about the co-existence of Catholic, Jewish and Moorish elements in the Iberian culture during that same historical period. Outside the classroom, he enjoys spending quality time with friends, listening to music and cooking.
